Bringing out the bling with the Crafty Gals Corner

It's time for another challenge with us at the

This week we are letting our creative juices flow with
Challenge #122 - Bling

The sponsor for this challenge is:

The Paper Shelter
Prize: $15 Gift Certificate

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the She's Charming digital stamp
from The Paper Shelter, our generous sponsor this week.
I printed the image on a sheet of A5 X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  The image panel is double-matted with pink and maroon cardstock.
The sentiment was created in Adobe Photoshop using two of my favourite fonts (Bookman Oldstyle and Janda Celebration Script), double-matted the same as the image panel and popped in position with foam squares.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the mirror, coloured it with Copic markers, added a panel of shimmering silver cardstock then added rhinestones to each of the ornate curves.
A cluster of paper flowers finished off the card, making a visual triangle with the sentiment and mirror.
CAS poppies
Yes, more CAS poppy cards.
My 1st post shared a pair of CAS "for someone special" poppy cards and all about our latest challenge Challenge #121 - Clean and Simple (CAS) at the Crafty Gals Corner
Full details can be found on my first "for someone special" post HERE.
~~~*~~~*~~~

This pair of 5"x7" cards will be sent "with our deepest sympathy".

I combined two of my favourite fonts in Adobe PhotoShop (Bookman Old Style and Janda Celebration Script) to create the sentiment.

The poppies are digital stamps (details below), coloured with Copic markers.

You might be thinking, "why did she add the sequins?"
OK ... I confess ... I had an inky oops that didn't want to move.

Which one do you prefer?
Should I add sequins to the other cards?

Keeping it CAS ... part 2

You can see my original CAS poppy post HERE.

This post is to share the second of the two cards featured in my original post.

This pic shows both cards together.   One image I coloured with "light" shining off the curve of the petals, the other version with the petals fading towards the edges.  I also used different shades of green for the leaves and stems.

Today I have used the elegant Poppies Set #771b digital stamp set
from Sparkle N Sprinkle, one of our generous sponsors this week.
The images were designed by the talented Beccy Muir.

updated 2022 - no longer available at Sparkle N Sprinkle
PLEASE PURCHASE from the designer, Beccy at

I set up the card panels using Adobe PhotoShop, tucking the sentiment in between the flower and leaf, with two image panels fitting on a A5 sheet.  This set comes with a beautiful collection of sentiments to choose from.
I printed the images on X-Press It blending card, "set" with my heat tool and coloured with Copic markers.
One image I coloured with "light" shining off the curve of the petals, the other version with the petals fading towards the edges.  I also used different shades of green for the leaves and stems.

I trimmed the image panels to be 3" wide and (the full height of the landscape A5 sheet) and matted them with scarlet cardstock, giving a 1/16" border.

... and one last pic of them together.
Which one do you prefer?

bee-ing happy again

I posted my bee cards earlier today HERE.
I want to enter both cards in some challenges,
so this post is to focus on the narrower version.

This card was trimmed to be 4.5" x 7"
You might be asking why did I trim it.
... I confess, I printed two sentiments on an A5 panel and got a bit carried away with my inking, the honeycomb went a little bit too far over on the panel, so I had to trim it so you couldn't see it.

I combined a STAMPlorations honeycomb stencil, a freebie Paper Smooches digital sentiment and Paper Smooches die cut bees with some fun challenges.

I printed two sentiments on a A5 panel of cardstock, secured the honeycomb stencil on an angle over one sentiment panel and blended Distress Ink over it, repeating for the second sentiment.

I die cut the bees in black, yellow and white.
I coloured the "white" wings with Copic markers and finished them off with a clear Wink Of Stella glitter brush.  I adhered the black bee bodies in place and inlaid the yellow body bits, tiny teenie eyes and sparkling wings.  The panel looked a little "lost" on the white card base, so I matted them with black cardstock.

Today I have used the cute Birthday Elephant digital stamp
by Lia Stampz, one of our generous sponsors this week.

I printed the image on A5 X-Press It blending card, "set" with my heat tool
and coloured with Copic markers.
The 5" x 7" card base is matted with white textured cardstock.
I trimmed the 6 1/2" square patterned paper to be the same height as the card base
and matted it with pink cardstock.
I trimmed the image panel down to 3" wide x 5" tall and matted it with grey cardstock.
 Next came an old favourite border punch, the Fiskars Scalloped Sentiment.  I punched 12" strips of  pink and white cardstock, adhered them together, cut in half, then aligned with the matted image panel.

The sentiment is a double-layered die cut, black under grey,
for a bit of shadowy dimension.
