even more EXCITING news ... Through The Craft Room Door

I have some even more EXCITING NEWS!

Today I am
Guest Designer
on the
~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute Cloudy Rain Cloud With Raindrops digital stamp from Wink Wink Ink to make some cheery rainbow cards.
This cute digital stamp comes with both a B&W image and a pre-coloured image,
so I decided to use both.
I placed the images on my Silhouette Cameo design mat, added my sentiment and sized them to make a front panels for an A5 top folding card.  I printed the precoloured image on blue A5 cardstock and the B&W image on A5 X-Press It Blending card.  I also printed the precoloured and B&W images on white cardstock and heat them too.
I took the B&W image, added some X-Press Mask-It and fussy cut it out, trimming to the inner edges of the cloud (so that when I applied the mask it will not leave a white edge when I ink around the masked cloud).
I took the precoloured image and fussy cut it out, then went around the outer edges with a black marker for a neat finish.
Here is the fussy cut precoloured cloud
 and here is my Copic marker coloured cloud.
Next was my time to get inky, very inky ... I ended up with blue fingers!
I took the blue panel, used a white gel pen to colour the raindrops, inked the background with Distress Inks, heat set then finished it off by adhering the fussy cut cloud in place.
For the B&W image panel, I took the mask and placed it over the cloud, inked the background with Distress Inks, heat set then coloured the cloud with Copic markers and the raindrops with a white gel pen.  I was quite surprised with the result, there really isn't much difference between the white vs blue cardstock after the inking.
The "RAIN" and "rainbows" sentiments for both cards are AC DIY Thickers.  I went around the edges of each letter with a rainbow of Copic markers then smothered them with the matching glitter.  The colour was a bit pale with just a single layer of glitter, so I went over each letter with liquid adhesive and added another layer for a rich, sparkling finish.
I have some more EXCITING NEWS!
I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Design Team at the
Our challenge for September is
Challenge #39 - Anything Goes
Remember:
You can participate with ANY project; altered, scrapbooking pages, cards, and anything you can think of.  If you have My Besties images, that would be ideal, but you can use any kind of stamps or digital stamps.
And also remember:
You are playing for 3 My Besties digital Stamps!
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute Sherri Baldy's My Besties image scan0007 digital stamp (#2 in the prize pic above) to make a rainbow rocking card.
These cards are fun because they really do rock and keep on rocking.

I sized the image on my Silhouette Cameo to fit inside a circle, then layered it with a variety of circles and scalloped circles to make the card base.  I printed the image on X-Press It Blending card, heat set, cut the round image panel with my Cameo and coloured with Copic markers.
Doesn't she have the cutest face?

I cut the rainbow of layers using my Cameo.  I scored the largest scalloped circle to make the rocking card base then cut my rainbow of layers and adhered them to the card front.
I adhered the image panel to the black circle and purple scalloped circle and adhered the bottom half to the card front.
Next came the fun of embellishing.  Today I was feeling punchy, so I punched three butterflies and bundles of flowers in different sizes, along with some leaves.  I layered the butterfly, leaving the bottom layer flat, the next two layers with the wings folded up for dimension and finished it off with some black bling.  I layered and curled the petals of the flowers for extra pop and dimension too.

EXCITING news . . . My Besties Aussie's style

I have some EXCITING NEWS!

I am thrilled to announce that I am Guest Designer this month at the

The theme for the September 2017 Challenge is Spring + Flowers

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute Sherri Baldy's My Besties image img830 to make a cheery card.
I sized the image on my Silhouette Cameo to fit inside an oval, surrounded by a pretty scalloped layer.  I printed the image on X-Press It Blending card, heat set, cut the oval image panel with my Cameo and coloured with Copic markers.  Then I decided that I needed even more flowers, so I printed the image again, several times, in different sizes to give a variety of sizes of each flower.  I coloured each flower, fussy cut then went around the edges with a black ink marker.
I used my Cameo to cut a black oval layer, slightly larger than the image panel, then a green scalloped layer to frame them both.  I matted a card base with green textured cardstock, black textured cardstock then pretty leafy patterned paper, topped off with the image panel layers.  I used liquid adhesive to adhere all the layers securely in place.
I die cut a variety of leaves and flourishes in green and black textured cardstock, layered them together, slightly offset for shadowy dimension, then adhered them in place around the image panel.  Next came the fun of layering the fussy cut flowers.  I fiddled around with the flowers until I was happy with their placement then took a bundle of black foam dots, adhering them under each flower, some had a single foam dot, others had two layered together, others had three, so the flowers sat at different heights when clustered together.
What do you think?
Does img830 say "Spring + flowers" to you?
ANYTHING Goes with us at the Crafty Gals Corner
It's time for another challenge with us at the
This week we are letting our creative juices flow with
Challenge #138 - Anything Goes
The sponsors for this challenge are:
Prize: 3 Digital Images
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I have used the Hydrangea Flower digital stamp from Delicious Doodles,
one of our generous sponsors this week, to make an A5 top folding birthday card.

I was excited to try a new technique called palette blending with my Copic markers.

You take your markers and scribble on to some acetate then use a zero "0" marker to add and blend the colours on to your image.  Because the colourless blender neutralises much of the colour, you start off with quite dark colours.  These petals were coloured with B79 and R39.  Hard to believe such bold colours can become so delicate isn't it?

Once the image was coloured (and dry ... it was pretty saturated to blend the colour in the petals) I fussy cut it out with micro tip scissors then went around the edges with my Memento marker.

The card base is an A5 top fold.  I adhered a panel of scarlet cardstock, then an offset panel of black cardstock, then another offset panel of scarlet cardstock.  I used the same black cardstock to die cut "happy" and "birthday" five times.  The sentiments were layered together then adhered in place.

Lucky last came the image panel.  I placed a bundle of black foam dots under it then adhered it securely in place, giving it some extra dimension and pop.

hello . . .

You may have seen these cards in my earlier post today.
They were made for the

gorgeous Stampendous Autumn Points cling rubber stamp
that we have all used for the blog hop.
Head on over for your chance to win!

~~~*~~~*~~~
This post is to share my ingredients and
recipe for a cheery HELLO.
~~~*~~~*~~~

There is so much amazing detail in the Autumn Points stamp that I made another couple of CAS cards.  This time I rotated the stamp from portrait to landscape and added a die cut sentiment.

I placed the stamp in my MISTI (foam layer removed) and printed it twice on a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" smooth white cardstock panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink.
For the first card I cut a matting panel 4 1/4" x 5 3/8" and inked the edges with the black ink.
I cut a card base 5" x 6 1/8" to allow for an even border around the matted image panel and adhered all the layers together using liquid adhesive.
Next came the sentiment.  I die cut the "hello" sentiment twice, inking one with the same ink used to stamp the image and layered it on top of a plain white "hello".  I popped the sentiment panel with foam dots and I soon had a second cheery, CAS, SUPER FAST card.

Given how lovely the black ink and clear heat embossing looked on my earlier card, I decided to make another card, this time with a glossy shine.

I stamped the image on a 4" x 5 1/4" of smooth white cardstock, allowed the ink to dry, dusted the image panel liberally with my powder tool, stamped again with Versamark ink, smothered with clear embossing powder then heat set for an even bolder black and a luscious glossy finish.

I cut a matting panel (1/8" larger than on the first card), inked the outer edges with the same black ink, allowed to dry, inked with Versamark ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I die cut another two "hello" sentiments, inking one with the same ink used to stamp the image, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and layered it on top of a plain white "hello".  I popped the sentiment panel with foam dots and I soon had a second cheery, CAS, SUPER FAST card, this time with a bolder, shiny black finish.
