Today I have used the Peonies In A Jar digital stamp from Conie Fong Art, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make a 6 1/4" top folding card.

I printed the image on A5 cardstock, heat set, then coloured with Copic markers.
I die cut the image panel then cut another circle, a doily and sentiment from purple cardstock to match the flowers.

Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute
Sherri Baldy's My Besties scan0046 Mr Snow Man digital stamp.

  I printed the image on X-Press It Blending card,
heat set and coloured with Copic markers.
I made the card front with triple matting, then I matted the image panel to match, tucking some green accent strips between the layers.

My card is 6" x 8", which is not an unusual size.
Super easy to make this size as a side fold and yes, it's almost as easy to make this size in a top fold.  All you need to do is make front and back panels the same size, score the top of the back panel and adhere it to the front panel.  I use a strong book binding glue to ensure that the pieces stay secured together.

Lucky last came embellishment time.
The sentiment is a lovely new one from Kaisercraft.
I added some Wink of Stella sparkle to the snowflakes on the image, red rhinestones to the Christmas Tree, clear rhinestones to the round accents of the image design and snowflakes with rhinestones to the green strips.  I layered the snowflakes white-on-black to tie them in with the B&W of the image panel.

. . . a not quite "real" Llama for Christmas

I'm not sure if he will be happy with this or not,

but I just had to use a llama for our nephew's Christmas card.

Why you may well ask ...

Well, when I learned that he had put "a real llama" on the top

and again at position #10 on his letter to Santa,

how could I resist?!?!?

I used a cut file for a llama treat box from the Silhouette Design Store (details below) and made some additional pieces to transform it into a top folding card.  He is wearing a Christmas collar, with little  bells that really jingle.  I also made a Christmas hat but I didn't like covering his mane.

He looks so cute from the front ...

There is a lot of dimension with foam dots between many of the layers.

   

And for the record, no, he won't find a "real llama" inside his box,

it is filled with Lego.  Merry Christmas Tom.

Today I have used the Flamingo Sunset Tangled Gems Collection digital stamp by Lacy Sunshine, one of our generous sponsors this fortnight.

I printed the image on A5 X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I confess that I used a pre-scored card base, trimming the front stepper sections off an A5 stepper card.  I matted the image panel, trimming the black cardstock down to give a 1/16" border with my Perfect Layers ruler, then adhered it to the card front, along with the layered die cut sentiment.  I triple matted the inside of the card to match the front.

MERRY ornaments Christmas cards

Here's a pair of very MERRY ornaments Christmas cards.

No colouring,
OK, just a little, with a Wink Of Stella glitter brush,

no die cutting, 

... I let my Silhouette Cameo do all (most) of the work,

with me gathering my glue to assemble the pieces.

No, you're not seeing things, they are different greens.  I had several part sheets from earlier projects and thought I would use them both, then decide which green I preferred before I head off to make some more.

The only change I made to these cards (apart from enlarging) was to add a backing panel to the die cut front.  This was so I could write inside without the look of the card being spoilt by handwriting being visible between the design elements of the front.  I also added a matting layer inside, apart from looking nicer, it makes it sturdier when standing up too.

The white snowflake decorations for the ornaments looked a bit stark against the red, so I smothered them with a Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush.  It worked a treat, muting the white and adding a luscious sparkle too.

Exciting news!

I'm thrilled to be
Guest Designer
on the

Scrapbook Stamp Society - Addicted to Stamps Blog

Today I have used the super cute Sherri Baldy My Besties - digital stamp - img577.

I printed the image on A5 X-Press It Blending Card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.

I cut the frame and green layers on my craft mat from textured cardstock and adhered the layers on an A5 top folding card base.
The sentiment is a die cut, the bee is too.
I die cut the bee in black and white cardstock, coloured the stripe panels with a Copic marker.  I traced around the bee body and cut a backing panel to adhere the body and stripes too.  I traced the wings on vellum, smothered with sparkle using Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush and adhered them to the back of the bee wings.  I put a couple of foam dots under the body and popped it in place.
