warm hugs and winter cheer

Sending warm hugs and winter cheer with this super cute snowman card.

The image is the Snowman with Holly freebie from Beccy's Place

The image was printed on an A4 sheet of X-Press It blending card, coloured using Copic markers (details below), trimmed down into a 3"x7" panel, matted with lime green cardstock with a 1/16" border (using Perfect Layers Ruler) then adhered to a 4"x8" top folding card base.

... time to confess that I have watched Frozen and, like Olaf,
I like warm hugs, so I had to put some inside my snowman card

I used 3 shades of orange Copic markers to make the foam alphas WARM
and die cut the hugs flamingo pink to match the snowman scarf and buttons.

I am considering adding some Wink Of Stella sparkle to the body of the snowman.
What do you think?  Go for it?
*** update ***
I added Clear Wink of Stella to the body of the snowman and now he sparkles.

PS - I am thrilled that heating the printed image with my heat tool has fixed the dreaded "toner bleed" that was tormenting me, especially with the lightest Copic markers.  There is not a hint of a problem, even with the large areas of C0 and C1.

More photos to come tomorrow, when the sun is shining bright :)
After looking at this photo, I think there is another Snowman With Holly card calling out to be made, with an extra matted layer, in bright pink.

I am going to enter my card in the following challenges (alphabetical order)
~~~*~~~*~~~
Beccy's Place
A Month Of Holiday Cards
Beccy has been sharing inspiration every day this month and my card was inspired by several days, including favourite colours, wreaths, buttons and adding shadows.  The cute snowman is wearing a holly wreath, I have coloured him in using my favourite colour combo of pink / orange / green and, although they have not been attached, there are three pretty buttons on his belly.  I have added a lot of shadowy shading to the snowman's body to give him more dimension.
I encourage you to head on over and check out Beccy's Place, especially this month, as there is wonderful Holiday Card inspiration, techniques and tutorials being shared each day, the challenge is open all month long, so there is plenty of time to get creative, enter some holiday cards and have the chance to win some of Beccy's digital images too.  All challenge entries are linked via her Month Of Holiday Cards post.
  1. I love pink and green Tracy, it's a fabulous colour combination and looks awesome on your card! I agree that some Wink of Stella would look great on the snowman's body and I also like your idea of another card with an additional bright pink border.
    Glad to hear you managed to figure out the toner bleed that was occurring, it's very annoying when the lines bleed into whatever medium you're using.
    Great card!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
    1. Thank You Beccy :)
      I have since added the Wink Of Stella sparkle to the snowman's body and it makes him look much more "real". I forgot to include in my original post that he was filled with warm hugs, so I added the pics with the new sparkling close-up.
