First Christmas 2020

I'm thrilled to be
~~~*~~~*~~~
The first sponsor for this challenge is:
SheepSki Designs
I have linked the sponsor product in my ingredients below.
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I have used the Ready For Christmas digital stamp from SheepSki Designs,
one of the generous sponsors, to make a "First Christmas" card and ornament/tag.

I opened the Ready For Christmas digital stamp in Silhouette Studio, along with an ornament cut file (details below) and sized the elements to make a slimline style card with lots of layers.  I created a sentiment for the card and the back of the ornament/tag and printed the image / sentiment panels on X-Press It blending card.  I cut the round image panels with the Cameo, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I used the Cameo to cut the matting layers for the ornaments from glitter cardstock (first time cutting this and it cut beautifully) and the ornaments from metallic cardstock.  I cut some extra ornaments from metallic cardstock and used a scalloped square squeeze punch to make ornate toppers for the front and back of each ornament.  (My punch collection began when I started cardmaking and I am so glad I have kept them.  Even though I added a Sizzix Big Shot and a Silhouette Cameo to my stash over recent years, punches are such a handy-dandy tool.  Do you still treasure your lever, squeeze and border punches?)  I used liquid adhesive to secure all the ornament/tag layers.  The sentiment panel was manually cut (ruler + craft knife + self healing craft mat) and layered with the same cardstock to match the ornaments.  The silver glitter cardstock is 1/8", the metallic cardstock is 1/32".  I made the card base from an A4 sheet of heavy white cardstock, trimming down the left over bit from the sheet to make the front panel of the card.  I matted the panel to match the ornaments and sentiment panels.  I used liquid adhesive to secure all the layers to the card, adding some thin foam squares behind the ornament so that it could "straddle" the sentiment strip and sit flat on the card.

Here is the front of the ornament / tag . . .

. . . and here is the back of the ornament / tag.

 . . . and here they are together again . . .

Here is a tip for punching small items with your squeeze punches.
Tape your item to be punched to a larger piece of cardstock
and hold the cardstock to align the piece for perfect punching.

I confess, I'm a bit of a ribbon collector.  I'm not so good at using them, so in reality I'm a ribbon hoarder.  I find it a challenge to make pretty bows, so my favourite way of using ribbon is to loop it and tie a knot, just like I have on the ornament on my card and my ornament/tag, pretty sparkling ribbon without suffering wonky bow stress.

With Love, Today and Always

This post is to share the CAS card I made for the new challenge on the

Today I have used the Poppies digital stamp from SheepSki Designs, one of our generous sponsors for this challenge to make two cards.   You can read all about the new challenge, the generous sponsors and the details about my layered card on my first post HERE or by clicking on the photo below.

~~~*~~~*~~~
I started my card by opening the digital image in Silhouette Studio.  I cropped the large area of "white space" from the image and sized the panel to 3 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" high.  I created a sentiment (font details below) and added it to the image panel to created a card front.  I printed the panel on X-Press It blending card, trimmed to size, heat set and coloured with Copic markers.  I created a 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" card base using heavy smooth white cardstock.  (No, I don't know why it ended up such an odd size, I usually make 5" x 7", 6" square or A5 sized cards, perhaps I was going to mat the panel instead of it being so CAS ... maybe I will do that next time.)
... and one last pic of both cards together, the CAS card
looks tiny but it's only 1/4" smaller than the layered one,
the CAS card 6 3/4" x 4 3/4", the layered is  7" x 5"
LeAnn’s World 101 Challenges - Challenge 27 – Anything Goes
Poppies with L O V E and Easter Wishes too!
It's time for a new challenge with us on the
As always, the challenge is Anything Goes.
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I have four projects to share.  A layered card and a CAS card using the Poppies digital stamp from SheepSki Designs and a pair of Easter tags using the Kitty Play digital stamp from LeAnn's World 101.

~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~
Here's a little more about the cards using the Poppies digital stamp from SheepSki Designs.  I started my cards by opening the digital image in Silhouette Studio.  I cropped the large area of "white space" from the image and sized the panel to 3 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" high.
For the layered card, I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, trimmed to size, heat set and coloured with Copic markers.  I printed the digital sentiment (details below) and trimmed to 7" wide x 1" high.  I matted the image and sentiment panels on black cardstock and trimmed to 1/8" with a Perfect Layers Ruler.  I created a 7" x 5" top folding card base from red cardstock, matted the bottom with a 2 1/2" strip of dark green cardstock, adhered the matted sentiment panel to the top of the green panel then adhered the matted image panel in place.
For the CAS card, I created a sentiment (font details below) and added it to the image panel to created a card front.  I printed the panel on X-Press It blending card, heat set and coloured with Copic markers.  I created a 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" card base using heavy smooth white cardstock.  (No, I don't know why it ended up such an odd size, I usually make 5" x 7", 6" square or A5 sized cards, perhaps I was going to mat the panel instead of it being so CAS ... maybe I will do that next time.)
... and of course, I have some more photos to share ...
~~~*~~~*~~~

Here's a little more about the Easter tags using the Kitty Play digital stamp from LeAnn's World 101.  I started my tags by opening the Kitty Play digital stamp from LeAnn's World 101 in Silhouette Studio.  The cute little girl reminded of an Easter Bunny dress-up, so I decided to make Easter tags.  I sized the image to 3" high by 2" wide, snipping the little kitty off the side.  I placed the image on an "egg" shape and added a "ribbon hole".  I created the Easter sentiment (font details below) and added it to the egg shaped tag.  I printed the panel on X-Press It blending card, cut with my Silhouette Cameo, heat set and coloured with Copic markers.  The tags are 4" high x 3" wide.  The tags were finished off by threading some pretty knotted ribbon through the end.  I think this is the first time I have ever started preparing for Easter so early.

Relax, it's your birthday

It's time for a new challenge with us on the

Penny's Challenge 467
As always, the challenge is Anything Goes.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the My Pad digital stamp from SheepSki Designs, one of our generous sponsors for this challenge, to make a fun birthday card.
I opened the image in Silhouette Studio and sized it to 3 1/2" to fit in the 4" oval.  I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, heat set, coloured with Copic markers and die cut to size.  I scored a panel of cardstock and offset the largest stitched scalloped oval die over the fold then die cut to create the card base.  I die cut another full panel from the same cardstock, scored halfway down the "front" of the card base and adhered the full panel to the lower half of the front panel to create the easel card.  I die cut several matting layers for the front and inside of the card, adhering them and the image panel in place with liquid adhesive.  This is where I confess that I had to do a double-take, as some of the adhesive oozed through the stitches and looked pretty horrible, so I quickly pulled it off, cut another panel and was more strategic with how much and where I put the adhesive.  I created a sentiment using a combination of fonts, printed, trimmed to size, matted with cardstock then trimmed to size using a 1/16" Perfect Layers Ruler.  I adhered the sentiment in place with foam squares inside the card so that it provided a little ledge for the card front to prop against for the easel fold.
Easel fold cards are surprisingly easy to make and are such a fun fold,
they pop up for a pretty display and fold flat for mailing.
Today I have used the Cornflowers digital stamp from SheepSki Designs,
I sized the image panel to fit neatly inside a 4 1/4" circle, added the sentiment, printed on X-Press It blending card, heat set, die cut then coloured with Copic markers.  I die cut a second circle to mat underneath the image panel, along with two decorative doily layers.  I double matted a 6 1/8" card base then secured all the layers and image panel in place with liquid adhesive.
