S is for . . . Super Swinging Snowman

It's that time of year again . . .
we all need to get our Christmas cards sorted and
what better way to do it than playing along with the

The prompt from Day 21 is the letter S

My "S" card was a Sweet Snowman Shaped card.
see HERE

Things didn't work out so well with this card, as he would not stand up.

Luckily I found this problem before I adhered the rest of the Snowman face panels to the card bases.  I decided to take the opportunity to transform them into rocking cards.

I had used my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file to create the snowman panels (enlarged to be 5 3/4" tall).  Once I decided to make them in to rocking cards, I opened the snowman cut file again in my Silhouette Studio, added a snowflake frame, sized it to fit the snowman face, then added a small circle to partially cover the snowflake, a larger circle to frame the snowflakes, then cut the panels using my Cameo.  I cut the snowflake frame in half, scored the circles halfway then started adhering the layers together - large circle, half snowflake frame, small circle then snowman.

The result is a pair of snowman cards that rock and roll when you tap them.

Here is a closer look at my Super Swinging Snowman.

Isn't it funny, how when things don't work out as expected when crafting,
you make some changes that result in a project even better than planned?

My "S" card is a Sweet Snowman Shaped card.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file to create this card.  I opened my Silhouette Studio mat, enlarged the card base to be 5 3/4" tall, then used my Cameo to cut all the pieces from textured cardstock.

I cut enough pieces to make four of these Sweet Snowman Shaped cards, had all the front face panels assembled, the bases scored and folded, then adhered one panel to the base ... that's when things went from SWEET to SILLY.

... I went to stand the first finished card up and he just kept toppling over!
Sadly he has a severe case of vertigo.

So here is my Silly Snowman Shaped card.
The only way I could take his photo was by propping him against the wall.

He is still a Sweet Snowman Shape,
so I have an idea to make the other three Snowman Shaped panels into
Super Swinging cards

more EXCITING news . . . Spanish My Besties style

I have some more EXCITING NEWS!

I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Design Team at the

Our challenge for September is
Challenge #39 - Anything Goes
Remember:
You can participate with ANY project; altered, scrapbooking pages, cards, and anything you can think of.  If you have My Besties images, that would be ideal, but you can use any kind of stamps or digital stamps.
And also remember:
You are playing for 3 My Besties digital Stamps!

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute Sherri Baldy's My Besties image scan0007 digital stamp (#2 in the prize pic above) to make a rainbow rocking card.
These cards are fun because they really do rock and keep on rocking.
I sized the image on my Silhouette Cameo to fit inside a circle, then layered it with a variety of circles and scalloped circles to make the card base.  I printed the image on X-Press It Blending card, heat set, cut the round image panel with my Cameo and coloured with Copic markers.
Doesn't she have the cutest face?
I cut the rainbow of layers using my Cameo.  I scored the largest scalloped circle to make the rocking card base then cut my rainbow of layers and adhered them to the card front.
I adhered the image panel to the black circle and purple scalloped circle and adhered the bottom half to the card front.
Next came the fun of embellishing.  Today I was feeling punchy, so I punched three butterflies and bundles of flowers in different sizes, along with some leaves.  I layered the butterfly, leaving the bottom layer flat, the next two layers with the wings folded up for dimension and finished it off with some black bling.  I layered and curled the petals of the flowers for extra pop and dimension too.
If you have visited before, you will know that I always have extra photos to share
NOW it's YOUR turn!
I hope that I have inspired you to get creative with your
Another rocking elephant
This is my second post today.
My earlier post shared all about our latest challenge
Challenge #118 - Pastel Colors
at the
Crafty Gals Corner
I had so much fun colouring the super cute Elly The Elephant Dancing digital stamp by Sasayaki Glitter (one of our generous challenge sponsors) that I made two rocker cards, a scalloped one and a round one.  The cool thing about both is that when you tap one side, they really do rock from side-to-side.
You can see the scalloped version of my card HERE.
~~~*~~~*~~~

I opened the digital image on my Silhouette Cameo design mat with the rocker card cut file.
I adjusted the size of the digital image to fit inside the top round panel, printed the image on X-Press It blending card then cut with my Cameo.

I "set" the image with my heat gun then coloured with Copic markers.

I added a small offset to the image panel and cut this extra layer in black textured cardstock, along with a variety of music notes and music note flourishes.  The black panel ties the black of the image and flowers in the patterned paper with the music notes.  Although this card is the same size as the scalloped version, the image panel is larger, which is a bonus, as it allowed me to use the larger (appropriately named) beautiful music note flourish from the cut file detailed below.

I cut the card base and large accent panel from a soft candy pink cardstock, a shade that matches the flowers perfectly.  I cut the top decorative panel from patterned paper and an additional panel in white cardstock to add the sentiment inside the card.
