Fall Colours at the Crafty Gals Corner

Today I have used the Tess Summer Fun digital stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make my my Fall card.

I opened the image in Silhouette Studio, along with the leaf frame cut file (details below), sized the frame to 5" square then sized the image to fit nicely inside.  I cut the frame from dark green card stock.  I printed the image panel on X-Press It blending card, heat set, trimmed to size then coloured with Copic markers.  Once the image panel was coloured, I decided the leafy frame was too dark, so to make it a bit more random like autumn leaves and went a bit crazy with some Glimmer Mists.  I spritzed the frame with four different colours (details below), so now it shimmers with shades of browns, golds and greens.  Once dried, I adhered the frame to the image panel then matted the panel with dark brown cardstock using my Perfect Layers Ruler to give a perfect 1/16" border in four quick cuts.  I matted a 6 1/8" top folding card base with warm mustard cardstock then adhered the matted image panel on top to complete the card.

   

It's hard to see, but the Glimmer Mist has given the leafy frame a beautiful effect, shimmering with shades of browns, golds and green, much nicer than the original dark green cardstock I started with.  I really do need to use my mists more from now on.
