It's time for another challenge with us at the

This week we are letting our creative juices flow with
Challenge #117 - 3+ Layers

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

Today I have used the cute Gina Le Cat Witch digital stamp from MoonFlower Digital Stamps, our generous sponsor this week, to make a dimensional frame to decorate for Halloween.

I opened the digital image on my Silhouette Cameo design mat with the Halloween Frame cut file.  I wanted to add dimension (and layers) to the frame so I added an offset to make a contrasting background.  I created internal offsets to make smaller and smaller windows into the frame, ending with the image of Gina.  I sized the image to fit perfectly inside the smallest window then printed it on X-Press It blending card.  I cut the oval panel with my Cameo, heat set with my heat gun then coloured with Copic markers.  The jewels were coloured with a Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

I'm really pleased with the shading in the image.  As well as using multiple markers for each area, I did a lot of tip-to-tip blending.

I cut the contrast panel from purple textured cardstock, the decorative layer and oval mats from black textured cardstock.  I cut two of each of the oval layers and adhered them together but when I layered them together, there wasn't enough contrast between them, so I cut some foam sheets and added them between each layer, adhering with liquid adhesive so that I could align each one perfectly.

Let's start counting
1 - ornate Halloween Frame
1 - purple contrast layer
4 - offset oval mats (it's really 8, as they're double layers)
5 - foam layers
1 - image panel
=> that adds up to a lot of layers

Here is an angled pic to show the layers and dimension
