Keeping it CAS at the Crafty Gals Corner

It's time for another challenge with us at the

This week we are letting our creative juices flow with

Challenge #121 - Clean and Simple (CAS)

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

Prize: $15 Gift Certificate

Prize: 3 Digital Images

Kitty Bee Designs
Prize: 1 digital image

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the elegant Poppies Set #771b digital stamp set
from Sparkle N Sprinkle, one of our generous sponsors this week.
The images were designed by the talented Beccy Muir.
updated 2022 - no longer available at Sparkle N Sprinkle
PLEASE PURCHASE from the designer, Beccy at
I set up the card panels using Adobe PhotoShop, tucking the sentiment in between the flower and leaf, with two image panels fitting on a A5 sheet.  This set comes with a beautiful collection of sentiments to choose from.
I printed the images on X-Press It blending card, "set" with my heat tool and coloured with Copic markers.
One image I coloured with "light" shining off the curve of the petals, the other version with the petals fading towards the edges.  I also used different shades of green for the leaves and stems.
I trimmed the image panels to be 3" wide and (the full height of the landscape A5 sheet) and matted them with scarlet cardstock, giving a 1/16" border.
... and one last pic of them together.
Which one do you prefer?
  6. Your CAS style cards are absolutely beautiful Tracy, well done! I love the way you've coloured the single poppy... the highlights are gorgeous and give the image so much depth. I really like the simple red border around the images and the placement of the sentiment. Beautiful!
  11. If I had to pick, I'd choose the light on the curve of the petals. That one looked more life-like to me. Thank you for submitting your design at the Victorine Originals Mothers Challenge!
  18. I love this design! Both poppies are just fantastic. For me the first poppy (with the dark in the centre) looks more natural, like a poppy in the field. The second Poppy looks like a silk flower, or a cut flower placed under a spotlamp so that the petals catch the light! Both beautiful cards.
    Thanks for playing along at Creative Moments,
