This post is to share more details about the card I made using the
Last Tree In The Shop digital stamp
from Polkadoodles, one of our generous sponsors this week.

Here is the front of my card.
As you can see, there are some fancy folds hiding inside.

Check out the surprise inside the "tunnel".

 This is a new-to-me style called a tunnel fold card.

I planned my card on my Silhouette Studio mat, using a combination of this tutorial by Jen from Koala T Crafts and parts of a purchased cutting file (details below).
The folded card 4 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall.

I printed the image on textured cardstock, heat set then coloured with Wink Of Stella Glitter Pens.  These pens are great for blending too.  I put down a layer of lighter colour, added a touch of the darker shade then blended it out.  I thought the sparkle contrasted nicely with the sad little tree, so added even more by colouring the background with my Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush.

I cut the front panel and matting layers using my Silhouette Cameo.
I scored the fold lines using my scoreboard and burnished them with my bone folder, making crisp folds and hopefully taking some of the bulk away.  I adhered the matting layers in place on the front and inside panels, added the sentiment to the front, then adhered the front and back panels together to complete this fancy fold tunnel card.  The die cut sentiment is several layers adhered together, finished off with a touch of Wink Of Stella Sparkle to match the inside.

This post is to share more details about the card I made using the
Cattelya Friendship digital stamp
from Sparkle N Sprinkle, one of our generous sponsors this week.

Yes, it's another fancy fold.
This time I've made a shadow box card.

I started out on my Silhouette Studio design mat, taking purchased cut file (details below), planning and sizing all the panels needed to make these fancy folds, with matting panels inside the window and for the back.  Note: this cut file comes with holes in the scallops and I removed them, originally planning on adding rhinestones in their place.

The folded card is 7" wide x 5 7/8" tall x 1" deep.
The flat card is 8 1/8" wide x 5 7/8" tall.

I printed the image panel on X-Press It Blending Card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers, using some photos of "real" Cattelya orchid flowers to guide me, especially for the throat of the flowers and the ruffles of the petals.

While the card has wonderful dimension when popped out and standing,
it folds flat for mailing, which is a real bonu$.
(no, the $ isn't a typo, thicker letters get charged at parcel rate$ here)

I made a contrasting panel for the back for adding a sentiment and writing a message.
The matting makes the card sturdier and I think it makes a nicer finish too.

This post is to share more details about the card I made using the
Unicorn Li'l' Miss Sugarpops Collection digital stamp
from Polkadoodles, one of our generous sponsors this week.

I love fancy folds and this is a different take on the gate fold design.

While the stars and patterned paper on the front panels look pretty,
the surprise hidden inside is, dare I say, ... magical?!?!?

I started out on my Silhouette Studio design mat, taking purchased cut file (details below), planning and sizing all the panels needed to make these fancy folds, with matted panels inside and out.
The folded card is 4 7/8" wide x 6 1/4" tall.
It's smaller than my usual cards but that's the largest I could get
when cutting the base from a 12x12" sheet of cardstock.

I created "mirror images" of the front matting panels so that I could mat inside the card too.  I also made matting panels to go under the image panel inside and the sentiment panel on the back.  I sized the image and sentiment panels to suit the matting panels.

I cut all the panels with my Silhouette Cameo, except for the image panel.
I prefer to cut the heavy weight blending card by hand.

I printed the image panel on X-Press It Blending Card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  To add to the magic of this precious unicorn, I added Stickles to the manes & tails and clear Wink of Stella sparkle to the stars & rainbow.  I also added sparkle to the stars on the card and to the darker dots on the patterned paper panels.

I finished it off with clusters of sparkling rhinestones.
... I confess, it was totally unplanned
I made a little "oops" under the toy unicorn and the rhinestones hid it perfectly.
The extra sparkle is quite lovely.

I double matted the back panel with a sentiment
and plenty of space to write a special birthday message.

Anything Goes with us at the Crafty Gals Corner

It's time for another challenge with us at the

This week we are letting our creative juices flow with
Challenge #154 - Anything Goes

The sponsor for this challenge is:
Faery Ink
Prize: 3 Digital Images

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the Tottie Birthday Cupcake digital stamp from Faery Ink, our generous sponsor this week, to make an A5 top folding birthday card.
I printed the image on A5 X-Press It blending cardstock, heat set, then coloured
with Copic markers, adding a touch of Wink Of Stella sparkle to the frosting and flame.
I covered the front of an A5 top folding card base with dark pink cardstock,
then trimmed cardstock layers to coordinate with the patterned paper.
After trimming and matting the image panel, I popped it in place
with a layer of foam over the patterned paper.
Lucky last, I scattered some sequins, as if Tottie was
throwing them as she leapt out of the cupcake.
Of course I have some more photos to share ...
just click on the image if you want to see the detail in full screen
