Day 30 - Doing what I love with dimension again

It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a set of four STUNNING cards HERE,
she has coloured a single poinsettia image in shades of grey then cut it into four
- WOW - they're breathtakingly beautiful!

My list for "Do What You Love" is endless, because I love making anything
and everything papercraft, from cards to treat boxes and decor pieces.
This time my love is for dimension again, more cards with lots of inky dimension.

To make these cards, I opened the Joy This Holiday Christmas Card cut file (details & links below, available from two stores) in Silhouette Studio and enlarged the card.  One of my favourite sizes is 5” x 7” and this card was A2, which is a much smaller 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.  The best I could do was to lock the aspect of the grouped elements of the card and enlarge it to be 6 ¾” wide x 5” tall, almost 5" x 7" and it will fit nicely in a 5” x 7” envelope.  I changed the sentiment for this card and used one of my favourites from Beccy’s Place, the Merry Little Christmas digital sentiment from the Jingle Bells digital stamp set.  I printed the sentiment panels then cut all the pieces in Vintage shades of textured cardstock (details below).  I inked the flowers, foliage and sentiment panels with Distress Inks, curled the petals and leaves then assembled the layers.  I used 300gsm smooth white cardstock to make card base then adhered the assembled layers on top.

The layered sentiment panels were popped with foam dots so that
they would sit neatly over the sprigs of foliage and berries.

Here they are together, same but a little bit different.

  1. The foliage looks fantastic Tracy, great idea to tuck it in behind the sentiment panel. I love the cream and green together, it gives mistletoe vibes. Pretty!
