Crafty Gals Corner - Challenge #96 - Anything but a card

It's time for another challenge with us at the

This week we are taking a step away from our usual cards
with Challenge #96 - Anything but a card

Our sponsors this week are:

Polkadoodles

Prize: $15 Gift Certificate

Prize: 1 digital image

All Dressed Up
Prize: 2 Digital Images

Today I have used the super cute A Gift For You Twiggy & Toots digital stamp from Polkadoodles, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make a post-it note holder.

I wanted to make it pretty and practical (for older hands and eyes) so I used a larger sized (4"x4") Super Sticky Lined Post-It Note Pad.

I overlayed the image on to digital paper in Adobe Photoshop, printed two on A5 X-Press It Blending Card.  (The size is perfect for the larger post it note pad.)  I coloured the panel using Copic markers (details below) and matted on contrasting cardstock.  The scalloped panel was cut using the largest die from the Couture Creations Scallop Squares Nesting Dies set.

I've not made one of these before, so I thought I would share just how easy they are to create.  The most challenging part for me was sourcing the pad and mini pen.

I cut a 5" x 11 1/2" strip of cardstock and scored at 5", 5 1/2" 6", then cut two lines between the outer score lines, 2" and 3" from the top, making a 1" section to become the pen holder.  The 5"x5" panel becomes the top front of the holder.  When the "pen holder" is popped out into position, I adhered the two narrow sections to the base then adhered the matted note pad to the base.  Once you have the dimensions they are ever-so-quick and easy to make.
