E is for . . . Easel

It's that time of year again . . .
we all need to get our Christmas cards sorted and
what better way to do it than playing along with the
at

The prompt from Day 6 is the letter E

My "E" is a pair of easel cards filled with delicious clusters of strawberries
from the Strawberry Patch digital stamp set from Beccy's Place.

Unfortunately I can't colour at the moment so it is a real bonus having pre-coloured images in this set of digital stamps.

It probably seems strange to use a strawberry image for Christmas
but it is the perfect image for our family, as fresh strawberries (& cherries)
are an essential part of our hot summer Christmas celebrations,
giving fresh fruits has become a tradition that everyone enjoys.
These cards will make the perfect finishing touch to these treats.

I opened the Strawberry Patch digital stamp set in my Silhouette Studio program and a cut file for an easel card.  I sized the main strawberry image to fit the front panel and the smaller strawberry image to fit the sentiment panel.  I duplicated the image for the sentiment panel and flipped it, so that both sides were embellished.  I printed the image and sentiment panels on textured cardstock, then cut the pieces with my Cameo, along with the card base and matting layers.  When assembled these cards are 5 1/2" square.

When the envelope is opened, the card is flat, then,
when the front image panel is tucked against the sentiment panel
it stands up so tall and pretty.

Here is a close-up of a sentiment panel.

The card can also stand up like a traditional top fold.

These fancy folds go flat for mailing.
