I have made two projects to share with you today.
This post is all about the first one, a sunflower shaker card.

I have used one of the super cool My Favorite Things Circle Shaker Pouches to transform a pretty sunflower card into a super shaking sunflower card,
filled with fun and birthday cheer.

I confess that the only have MFT exclusive product I have in my crafty stash are circle shaker pouches, so it was a pleasure to get creative and give them a workout.
My card started out as a cut file for a sunflower card (link below).  There are bundles of layers in the middle of the flower, so I cut a 2" circle in the middle of the top layers to make a window for the shaker pouch to fit through.  (Note: I had to enlarge the cut file so that the I could fit the 2" window.)  I cut all the layers from textured cardstock and then the fun began.

I added dimension to the petals and leaves using the handle of a small paintbrush.
I gathered a bundle of 6mm gold/cream/black sequins (a mix in my stash), some 4mm gold sequins and black micro beads and mixed them together.  I aligned one of the top "ring" layers on top of the "backing" layer for the shaker window, so that I could see where to adhere some sequins so that when the card is standing, the top of the window is not empty.  I added a pile of my shaker mix to the middle then carefully removed the top layer that I used as a template, added adhesive to the edge of the circle shaker pouch and carefully positioned it in place.  I finished adhering all the flower layers together then adhered them to the card front, tucking in the leaves.

Next came the sentiment panel.  I added brown layers to match the sunflower, finishing off with a die cut sentiment.  At this stage I stood the card up and it was a bit "wobbly" because I added a lot more weight to the top of it, so I quickly gathered the brown sheets of cardstock and matted the inside with lots of layers ... it worked perfectly, the card now stands proud and tall.

for our current challenge on the

The April challenge is
Challenge #46 - Anything Goes

Remember:  You can participate with ANY project; altered, scrapbooking pages, cards, and anything you can think of.  If you have My Besties images, that would be ideal, but you can use any kind of stamps or digital stamps.  And also remember: You are playing for My Besties digital Stamps!

Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute
Sherri Baldy's My Besties img109 Carrot House digital stamp.

I printed the image on A5 X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.
I matted an A5 top folding card base with luscious orange cardstock, added a panel of vibrant pink cardstock then adhered the matted image panel in place.

I used the Cupcakia font to make the sentiment, trimmed then popped in place using foam dots.
Lucky last were some enamel dots ... I confess, they were not planned.  After adhering everything in place, I saw a flaw in the cardstock that had to be hidden ... I think the black works well with the bold sentiment and outlines of the image.

NOW it's YOUR turn!

Today I have used the delightful Tulips digital stamp by The Paper Shelter,
the generous challenge sponsor, to create a get well card
using my favourite colour combo of pink, orange and green.

I remembered a pretty tulips card in my cut file library, so opened it up in Silhouette Studio, upsized the card base to just fit on my cutting mat, giving me a 5 7/8" square card with a very fancy floral edge.  I sized the image to fit inside the front panel, printed the image on A5 X-press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I cut the card base and tulip flowers using my Silhouette Cameo then used Copic markers to add some shadowy dimension.  I trimmed the image panel down and matted it with black cardstock (1/32", just enough to add a touch of black to coordinate with the black sentiment).  I scored the fold, added the tulip flowers, leaves and image panel then finished it off by adding a white panel to the inside of the card to make it contrast against the flowers and leaves.

I thought about adding some bling or enamel dots to the image panel ... still deciding.

What do you think, to add or not to add?

Lacy Sunshine Stamps is now Colour Of Love

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the delightful Rory's Wisteria digital stamp by Colour Of Love to create a birthday card.  There is so much beautiful detail in the image that I upsized and made a large A5 card.
I printed the image on A5 X-press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I used some warm grey markers to highlight the shadows and add some "weathering" to the tree stump and branches.
I cut an ornate frame from black cardstock, adhered it over the image panel, trimmed it down to size and went around the edges with Memento Tuxedo Black dual tip marker so that there was no white peeking out the sides.  Note: I adjusted the shape of the frame on my Silhouette Cameo design mat to fit the shape of the image better, squashing in the sides and stretching the top/bottom.  I offset the shape and nested them together to make the frame.
I matted an A5 card base with pretty patterned paper to match Rory's top, added a black strip behind the framed image panel (see sketch below) then added a matted sentiment panel.  I coloured a strip of X-press It blending card with R85, die cut the sentiment then adhered in place on the matted panel.
Lucky last came two trios of black enamel dots.
Monstrously cute mistletoe kisses
on the My Besties Spanish Challenge Blog!
Yes, it's time for another challenge with us at the
My Besties Spanish Challenge Blog
Challenge #46 - Anything Goes
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute
Sherri Baldy's My Besties img826
- Adorable Little Monsters Christmas - Mini Monster - digital stamp
to make a monstrously cute non-traditional Christmas card.

I placed the image on my Silhouette Cameo design mat, sized it to fit on an A5 sheet, added a digital sentiment (combination of the Alyssum Blossom and Ariel fonts) and printed it on A5 X-Press It blending card.  I heat set image panel, trimmed down to 5 1/4" square, then coloured with Copic markers.  You can't see it very well, but I tried a technique to add texture to the fur.  I took a piece of towel, wet it with colourless blender alcohol then blotted the image ... I think it might have worked too well!  I matted the image panel several times using Perfect Layers Rulers then adhered it to a 6 1/4" card base.  I die cut several mistletoe sprigs from white cardstock, leafy sprigs from shades of green cardstock and a dimensional bow from pink (bubblegum) cardstock, then used liquid adhesive to assemble them together on the card front.
I finished off the card front by adding Stardust Stickles to the sparkling gems of her necklace.
I matted the inside of the card with several layers to co-ordinate with the front.

... after looking at my card while writing my blog post I thought it needed something more, so I cut some more white mistletoe sprigs, coloured some rhinestones to match the darkest pink Copic marker and added them to the cluster under the bow.

What do you think?
Better with bling?
