the generous challenge sponsor, to create a get well card
using my favourite colour combo of pink, orange and green.
I remembered a pretty tulips card in my cut file library, so opened it up in Silhouette Studio, upsized the card base to just fit on my cutting mat, giving me a 5 7/8" square card with a very fancy floral edge. I sized the image to fit inside the front panel, printed the image on A5 X-press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers. I cut the card base and tulip flowers using my Silhouette Cameo then used Copic markers to add some shadowy dimension. I trimmed the image panel down and matted it with black cardstock (1/32", just enough to add a touch of black to coordinate with the black sentiment). I scored the fold, added the tulip flowers, leaves and image panel then finished it off by adding a white panel to the inside of the card to make it contrast against the flowers and leaves.
What do you think, to add or not to add?

DeleteBeautiful card, Tracy. I have this card in my library too, but have never used it. I always felt that the tulips were too big. Now that I look at your card, I see that it isn't so. Thank you for the inspiration. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Lena.
ReplyDeleteThank You Lena :)
Delete... I thought it was too big for an image too, looking at the design it was made for just a sentiment. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the delightful TPS Tulips image and think it works with how she is looking back towards the tulips while holding her basket of precious blooms.
Veru unique card design! This has certainly given me some ideas. Beautiful coloring too. Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!
