Superb Fairy Wren

My card combines the Superb Fairy Wren pre-coloured digital stamp from the Superb Fairy Wren digital stamp set from the Beccy's Place Store with the "a happy hello" digital sentiment from the Limited Edition digital stamp set, also from Beccy's Place.  I sized the image-sentiment to fit on a 3.8" square panel, printed on smooth white cardstock.  I added some more shadow to anchor the wren to the card with Warm Grey W0-W1-W3 Copic Markers.

Next came a touch of Wink of Stella sparkle to the blue feathers on the wren,

as you move the card around, there is a flash of vibrant blue sparkle,

just like the wrens that visit with my Mum when she sits in the garden.

I trimmed the image panel, matted with black cardstock and trimmed to a 1/16" border with a Perfect Layers Ruler, matted the layered panel Marine cardstock and trimmed to a 1/8" border, then added the panel to a 5 1/2" square top folding card base made from the same smooth white cardstock.

   

As I look at the card now, I'm thinking that I might

add some pretty black pearls or sparkling gems.

Add them or stick with "less is more"?

Ulysses Flutter - 4

For my fourth card today, I combined the Ulysses pre-coloured digital stamp from the Butterfly House digital stamp set from the Beccy's Place Store with the Life Wonderful digital sentiment Shabby Chic Roses digital stamp set, also from the Beccy's Place store.  Unfortunately this digital stamp set now discontinued but you can read more about it and see creations shared using the stamps and sentiments HERE on the Beccy’s Place Blog.

I sized the butterfly to 2" high (nearly 2 1/2" wide) and rotated it slightly to fit on a 4" square panel.  I added the sentiment then printed the image panel on textured white cardstock.  I also printed an extra copy of the 2" high butterfly, to fussy cut.  I trimmed the image panel, matted with black cardstock, trimmed to a 1/16" border, matted with Mermaid cardstock, then trimmed to a 1/8" border.  I adhered the matted image panel to a 5 1/2" square panel of white textured cardstock then adhered the multi matted image panel on to a 5 1/2" square top folding card base made from 300gsm smooth white cardstock.

I created the 1/8" border by putting the 3/16" edge of the

Perfect Layers Ruler against the edge of the image panel.

   

Next came some fun modifications.  I fussy cut the extra butterfly, added black ink to the edges then inked the back of the butterfly with the same black ink.  I added Wink of Stella sparkle to the coloured parts of the butterfly wings. Then I carefully added sparkle to the Mermaid matting layer, luckily the brush tip is so fine and easy to control.  The sparkle is so pretty but a challenge to capture with the camera, just like how difficult it is to photograph these beautiful butterflies out in the rainforest, don't ask how I know, all I can say is that our first visit to Cairns was before we had a digital camera, the olden days when you had to wait for films to be developed...

   

I adhered the body of the butterfly to the printed image panel

and gently folded up the wings for fluttery dimension.

I sized the butterfly to 2" high (nearly 2 1/2" wide) and rotated it slightly to fit on a 4" square panel.  I added the sentiment then printed the image panel on textured white cardstock.  I also printed an extra copy of the 2" high butterfly, to fussy cut.  I trimmed the image panel, matted with black cardstock, trimmed to a 1/16" border, matted with Capri cardstock, then trimmed to a 1/16" border.  (My craft knife was at a bit of an angle when I trimmed the first side, making the mat slightly narrower than 1/16", so I trimmed the other sides to match.  It's narrow yet still gives a pop of colour, just like you see when these magnificent butterflies are fluttering their wings.)  I adhered the matted image panel to a 5 1/2" square panel of white textured cardstock then adhered the multi matted image panel on to a 5 1/2" square top folding card base made from 300gsm smooth white cardstock.

I sized the butterfly to 2" high (nearly 2 1/2" wide) and rotated it slightly to fit on a 4" square panel.  I added the sentiment then printed the image panel on textured white cardstock.  I trimmed the image panel, matted with black cardstock, trimmed to a 1/16" border, matted with Mermaid cardstock, then trimmed to a 3/16" border.

I created the 1/16" border by putting the 1/16" edge of the

I adhered the matted image panel to a 5 1/2" square panel of white textured cardstock then adhered the multi matted image panel on to a 5 1/2" square top folding card base made from 300gsm smooth white cardstock.

   

The sentiment is delightful and such a beautiful combination of fonts,

I think it looks so elegant against the delicate butterfly wings.
