I'm thrilled to be Guest Designer for April with the Crafty Catz.

This week the team has shared projects to inspire you to get creative for

Challenge 414 - Anything Goes
optional theme Use Mauve Or Purple
~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I have used the fun Running Bunny digital stamp by Rick St. Dennis, the generous challenge sponsor this week, to create a birthday card.
My card base is 6 1/4" square.
As soon as I saw this fun bunny, I immediately thought of the rabbit in Alice In Wonderland and decided to make a belated birthday card using a verse from "I'm late".
I chose a font for the sentiment then sized it with the image on my Silhouette Cameo design mat. I  printed the image panel on X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  It is difficult to see but the hollow sections of the sentiment are filled with purple Copic marker colouring too.
I trimmed the image panel down to 5 1/4" square, matted with black cardstock, trimmed down to a 1/16" border using my Perfect Layers Ruler, matted with white cardstock and trimmed down to a 3/16" border with Perfect Layers Ruler, then adhered it to a card base matted with purple cardstock.
I punched out some different sized flowers from purple cardstock, coloured some with the same BV Copic markers used for the rabbit's clothes, adhered a black bling flourish then surrounded it with the flowers.  Lucky last came some scatted star confetti.
Get ready for Christmas with Crafting By Designs
~~~ 1st post of two today ~~~

I am thrilled to be

challenge

~~~*~~~*~~~
I was thrilled to see the Christmas theme for this challenge.
I don't know about you but I usually have a last minute rush with my Christmas card making and struggle to get all my cards posted by my goal time of December 1st.  The last couple of years I have been making a few cards throughout the year and found that it has made my task of bringing Christmas cheer much easier.
That being said, it is a pleasure to have four Christmas cards to share with you.
Today I have used the Tied Up With String digital stamp from Beccy's Place,
a set of stamps that is filled with images and sentiments to mix and match.
All the cards started with the digital stamps on my Silhouette Cameo design mat.  Although they use the same stamp combos, the image sizes, placement and colouring are different, so they are all still one-of-a-kind.
I printed the image panels on A5 X-press It blending card, heat set, coloured with Copic markers then trimmed to size.  I used my Perfect Layers Rulers to mat each image panel.
Here are the candy canes filled with Christmas cheer.
These cards are 6 1/4" x 5 1/4"
... they're the same stamp combo but still different ...
It feels great to add another four cards towards next Christmas.
Today I have used the Kawaii Snowman ~ Silly Chilly Stan Image No. 138
digital stamp from Oddball Art Co., one of our generous sponsors this week,
to make a pair of sparkling CAS Christmas cards.
As soon as I saw this digital stamp I envisioned a pair of these cuties singing
"We Wish You A Merry Christmas", so I duplicated the image and flipped it over,
giving me two snowmen facing each other and singing together.
One card had a digital sentiment using the full chorus,
the other used a clear stamp using the title.
This post is all about the smaller card with just the song title as the sentiment.
I added the image to my Silhouette Cameo design mat, duplicated and flipped one over so that the 3" tall snowmen were facing each other.  I measured the sentiment stamp and spaced the snowmen to be a comfy distance apart then printed them on X-press It blending card, heat set, coloured with Copic markers and trimmed down to 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" for matting.
When I say "coloured with Copic markers", it did take quite a while to do it,
as I built up lots of layers of colour to give delicate dimension to the snowmen.
I added a strip of high tack double-sided tape to the edges of the black matting layer then burnished fine black glitter over it, giving a luscious sparkling velvet finish.  I added a touch of sparkle to the image panel by adding black glitter to the earmuffs too.  After adhering the image panel to the black glitter mat, I used my Perfect Layers Rulers to add a white layer then a delicate blue layer (rain, to match the snowmen) before adhering them to a matted card base.  (I made the card base from a sheet of heavy A4 cardstock, folded and trimmed to make a top fold card 7 1/2" x 5 1/2".)
My third Christmas card for 2018 is now complete.
