digital stamp from Oddball Art Co., one of our generous sponsors this week,
to make a pair of sparkling CAS Christmas cards.
As soon as I saw this digital stamp I envisioned a pair of these cuties singing
"We Wish You A Merry Christmas", so I duplicated the image and flipped it over,
giving me two snowmen facing each other and singing together.
One card had a digital sentiment using the full chorus,
the other used a clear stamp using the title.
This post is all about the wider card with the full chorus.
I added the image to my Silhouette Cameo design mat, duplicated and flipped one over so that they were facing each other. The snowmen are 3" tall, so I put them on either edge of an A5 panel and typed the chorus of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" between them. I printed the image on X-press It blending card, heat set, coloured with Copic markers and trimmed down for matting.
When I say "coloured with Copic markers", it did take quite a while to do it,
as I built up lots of layers of colour to give delicate dimension to the snowmen.
I added a strip of high tack double-sided tape to the edges of the black matting layer then burnished fine black glitter over it, giving a luscious sparkling velvet finish. I added a touch of sparkle to the image panel by adding black glitter to the earmuffs too. I scored a sheet of heavy A4 cardstock, folded and trimmed to make a top fold card 8 1/4" x 5 1/4". I adhered the layers to the card base and my second Christmas card for 2018 was done.
