Day 30 - Doing MORE of what I love . . .

 It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.

You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a set of four STUNNING cards HERE,
she has coloured a single poinsettia image in shades of grey then cut it into four
- WOW - they're breathtakingly beautiful!

My list for "Do What You Love" is endless, because I love making anything
and everything papercraft, from cards to treat boxes and decor pieces.
Today my love is to
use an unexpected stamp combination to make another Christmas card.

You may remember seeing this cute Christmas dalmatian
when I shared him for Day 15 - Plaids HERE and for Day 30 - Do what you love HERE

~~~*~~~*~~~
My "unexpected stamp combination" Christmas card started with the Paper 5 digital plaid patterned paper from the Daisy Elements digital stamp set, the Dalmatian digital stamp and Too Much Happy digital sentiment from the Dog Tales digital stamp set (sadly now retired and no longer available), both sets from Beccy’s Place
and both are far from what could be called festive.
I opened all the digital elements in Silhouette Studio and sized everything for a 5" x 7" card panel.  I sliced the sentiment into separate words and sized them to fit nicely beside the sweet dalmatian.  I added a merry little Santa hat to the dalmatian.  I printed the card panel as a single layer and trimmed down to size.  The dalmatian image panel was coloured with Copic markers AND this time I remembered the eyes.  After a bit of searching in cyberland I learned that dalmatians usually have brown or blue eyes.  Well blue eyes were OUT ... growing up there was a scary dog with one brown eye and one blue eye on my Aunt & Uncle's farm, since then I have avoided blue-eyed dogs, so brown it is.  I made a 5" x 7" card base then adhered the card panel on top to finish my "Happiness is in the simple things" Christmas card.
Lots of markers to colour this little cutie.
He really is a Christmas cutie!
He's enjoying the simple things, surrounded by FAMILY at Christmas,
no wonder he has such a delightful smile on his face.
Here are my cards together, my original Christmas Plaid Dalmatian
and today's unexpected "simple things" Christmas Dalmatian.
And here are all three of my Christmas Dalmatians cards together.
Today my love was going to be fussy cutting and layering but my fingers don't want to co-operate, so now my love is to make a CAS Christmas card.
I opened the Poinsettias pre-coloured digital stamp from the Poinsettia digital stamp set from Beccy’s Place and sized it to fit on a 5" square panel.  I added a made-by-me Merry Christmas sentiment (font details below) and I'm shaking my head, why, why did I make one when I have so many favourites in my digital stash from Beccy’s PlaceThat's a question that I cannot answer because I really don't know what came over me, hoping I don't make that mistake again.
I printed the panel on white textured cardstock, matted with a pop of black cardstock, trimmed to 1/16" with my Perfect Layers Ruler, matted again on a 5 1/2" square white textured cardstock then adhered on to a made-by-me card base.
Day 16 - N is for New Year . . . again
It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.
Beccy's inspiration is a magical Northern Lights Night sky card HERE
My "N" is for NEW, New Year, again
... yikes, 2025 is less than a month away!
I shared my first New Year card HERE
My second New Year card design for the year started as a cut file in Silhouette Studio (details and link below).  The card is A6 size and has the ornate design cut out of the card base front.  I made two changes.  First I sliced off the ornate front panel so that I could mat it and layer it on the front of a card base.  The second change was the sizing, my favourite card size is 5" x 7", so I locked the aspect and increased the panel width to 5", the height increased to 6 3/4", which will still fit nicely in a 5" x 7" envelope.
I cut the ornate Happy New Year panels from gold glitter cardstock then matted them on 5" x 6 3/4".  I learnt my lesson from my first cards and was super speedy while dotting the glue.  I aligned the ornate glitter panels on the left side of the cardstock panels.
I made a pair of 5" x 6 3/4" card bases and adhered the ornate panels on top.
Wishing you a Happy 2025!!!
My "N" is for NEW, New Year
... yikes, it won't be long until we'll be signing with 2025 dates!
My first New Year cards for the year starts as a cut file in Silhouette Studio (details and link below).  The card is A6 size and has the ornate design cut out of the card base front.  I made two changes.  First I sliced off the ornate front panel so that I could mat it and layer it on the front of a card base.  The second change was the sizing, my favourite card size is 5" x 7", so I locked the aspect and increased the panel width to 5", the height increased to 6 3/4", which will still fit nicely in a 5" x 7" envelope.
I cut the ornate Happy New Year panels from gold glitter cardstock then matted them on 5" x 6 3/4".  That sounds quick and easy, right?  Well it wasn't, it took ages dotting adhesive over all the delicate detail so that it didn't stick up and risk catching, bending or tearing.  By the time I got around all the bits, the first dots were almost dry, so I had to do a super speedy second round of dotting.  I aligned the ornate glitter panels on the left side of the cardstock panels and they looked lovely, well worth the effort.
I made a pair of 5" x 6 3/4" card bases and adhered the ornate panels on top.
Wishing you a Happy 2025!!!
Day 27 - X is for X-Press It again
It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.
Beccy's inspiration is a delightful winter scene card HERE,
with the snowman coloured beautifully on X-Press It blending card.
My "X" is also for X-Press It blending card, again,
I printed the image panel on X-Press It blending card
and made another Cute Curly Candy Cane Christmas Card
coloured with Copic markers,  this time
I swapped the red and green from my first card.
No, you're not seeing things,
this is my fourth Candy Cane Christmas Card.
I shared a red Cute Curly Candy Cane Christmas Card for Day 3 HERE
and a green Candy Cane Christmas Card for Day 27 HERE
a red Candy Cane Christmas Card for Day 3 HERE
Like my first Curly Candy Cane Card, I used Silhouette Studio to create the image panel for my card.  I sized the Curly Candy Cane digital stamp from the Candy Canes digital stamp set from Beccy’s Place to fit a 4" square panel.  I created the sentiment (font details below), printed the panel on X-Press It blending card then manually trimmed to size.  I used Copic markers to colour the candy cane, OK, it's partially coloured, this is my quirky take on the "loading t-shirts" you see people wearing and translating it to Christmas.  Once coloured, I matted the panel with sparkling red glitter cardstock.  I made a 5 1/2" square top folding card base, adhered the image panel and my Candy Cane Christmas Card was complete.
Here are my red Curly Candy Cane card and green Curly Candy Cane cards together.
. . . but wait, there's more . . .
