Day 15 - Plaid Patterned Paper

It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a super cute snowman surrounded by layered plaids HERE

My Day 15 card uses Plaid Patterned Paper.
I struggled with my Tartans, Plaids and Checks project but it was worth every minute.
I hope my merry Plaid card makes you smile and that you like it as much as I do :)

My plaid card started with the Paper 5 digital plaid patterned paper from the Daisy Elements digital stamp set, the Dalmatian digital stamp from the Dog Tales digital stamp set (sadly now retired and no longer available) and the Merry Christmas digital sentiment from the Tied Up With String digital stamp set (sadly now retired and no longer available), all from Beccy’s Place.

I opened all the digital elements in Silhouette Studio and sized everything for a 5" x 7" card panel.  I sized and stretched the sentiment so that it fitted nicely beside the dalmatian.  I added a merry little Santa hat to the dalmatian.  I printed all the layers, cut the oval panels with my Silhouette Cameo and manually cut the matting layers.  I coloured the image panel with Copic markers, inked the edges of the layers, then assembled the card panel, popping each layer with thin foam sheet.  I made a 5" x 7" card base then adhered the card panel on top to finish my pretty plaid card.

Lots of markers to colour this little cutie.

Blending brushes make inking edges so much fun.

Thin foam layers under each panel add a nice dimension to the card.

He really is a Christmas cutie!

edited - he now has brown eyes

  1. The lime green paper looks fantastic Tracy, such a great contrast for the red! You've done a fabulous job colouring the little dalmatian... love the addition of the Christmas hat.
