Beccy's Place Day 30 - Do What You Love - 5

I'm playing along with the
Tenth Annual
Month of Holiday Cards Challenge

~~~*~~~*~~~
(Beccy's post with elegant holly cards to inspire is HERE)
Well, it's no secret, I love making cards, so I've made some more cards.
My cards use the FREE pre-coloured Snowman With Bauble image that Beccy has shared with us for the December Challenge on the Beccy’s Place Challenges blog.  You can find this cutie HERE (pre-coloured image and B&W digital stamp) and HERE (pre-coloured image).  The sweet sentiment is from the Christmas Blooms digital stamp set from the Beccy's Place Store.
I opened the super cute snowman image in Silhouette Studio as it is a great tool for designing cards and printing panels, it's not just for cutting.  I sized the image to fit nicely on a panel for a slimline card, leaving space underneath to pop a matted sentiment on top later.  I added a thin black line to the image and sentiment panels, printed then manually cut down to size.  I matted each panel with pretty pink cardstock and trimmed to size with Perfect Layers Rulers, one set 1/16", the other 1/8".  I matted the card base with white cardstock before adhering the image panels in place.  I used Copic markers to add some shadows under the snowman then popped the sentiment in place with foam squares, so he looks like he's standing on the sweet sentiment.
Even though there are two cards using the same image and colour combo,
they're still one-of-a-kind.
  1. I remember you doing something similar during the November challenge Tracy, and was surprised what a difference it made to alter the width of the coloured mats. I think these cards show that too. They're both fabulous, I LOVE the CAS design and the pink looks wonderful with the little image.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
