Day 26 - W is for Winter Wonderland . . . take 2

It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a delightful white-on-white card HERE

My "W" is for Winter Wonderland,
another layered Winter Wonderland shadowbox scene card,
this time without the shadow.

My first attempt at making this card design is HERE.

My layered Winter Wonderland scene card started with a cut file (details & link below).  I enlarged the file from being a 6" x 4" card up to 6 3/4" x 4 1/2", no, it's not my preferred 7" x 5" but this size is a compromise, larger for cutting the delicate elements with the added bonus of fitting two panels on 12"x12" sheets of cardstock.  I gathered one of my last packs of American Crafts Winter Cardstock and selected the colours to layer together (details below, sorry, no links, this cardstock is no longer available) and started cutting.  Now this is when the "shadow" part of the card is supposed to happen.  I struggled adding the foam dots to my first attempt making this cut file design, my fumble fingers just didn't want to play with a gazillion foam dots, single layer foam dots, double layered foam dots and triple, yes triple, layered foam dots.  So I made an executive decision, no more foam dots.  I used liquid adhesive to secure the layers in place, nice and flat.

The different colours of each layer still give a nice dimension to the scene.

  1. To be honest Tracy, the design and colours you chose give the impression of depth anyway, it’s a beautiful card. I know photos don’t do them justice, but I think the “flat” one looks just as lovely… sans the frustration!
    Cheers,
