Day 19 - Q is for Quick

It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a Santa wearing a beautiful quilted coat card HERE

My "Q" is a Quick card,
a Quick and cute gnome Christmas card.

OK, this card is not what I had planned for my "Q" project, I'm still waiting on a crafty delivery that has an essential tool I need to try a new-to-me technique that is filled with "Q".  In the meantime, this card will help keep me on track with Beccy's festive alphabet.  I've tried to use Beccy's Place digital images, sentiments and patterned papers all month long and I've been pretty pleased to have included at least one for most of my projects.  I might still get to include one of Beccy's sentiments for a panel inside the card, will have to see how kind time is to me.

This Quick card started with a Gnome Christmas Card cut file for what is called an insert card design.  I have found that my textured cardstock is not always sturdy enough without at least one layer of matting, so I adjusted the file so that it became a front panel to go on to a card base (instead of the cut card front being part of the card base).  Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut the detailed gnome cut out panel and was pleased with how Quick and easy it was to weed out the detailed design cuts.  I quickly manually cut a panel from red textured cardstock to insert into the gnome panel, quickly made a sturdy card base, quickly adhered the layered gnome panel to the card base and my quick card was done.

NOTE: Quick is not always good.  In my rush to make the card base I dropped my bone folder.  When the battle is bone folder vs tiled floor, the tiles win and my poor bone folder has a chipped tip.

  1. Quick and cute sound like my types of card Tracy, especially when you have lots to make! This gnome is definitely cute, and I like the red and white combo.
Sorry to hear about your bone folder, I hope the chip doesn't make it unusable.
    Cheers,
    Beccy
