Day 7 - G is for Green

It's time for the 12th Annual Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place.
You can read the rules HERE or head over to Beccy's Challenges and enter HERE.

Beccy's inspiration is a grand green and gold Nutcracker card HERE

My G is Green, Green holly leaves on a Green side step rocker card.

This Green side step rocker card is my second one using this fancy fold design.

HERE is my first, Blue, side step rocker card.

How could I resist making making another one?

My card started in Silhouette Studio with a Thanksgiving Side Step Rocker card cut file (details below).  I modified the design to include the delightful Silver Bell pre-coloured digital stamp from the Silver Bell digital stamp set, a now retired set from Beccy’s Place.  I sized the image to fit neatly in the front panel and the sentiment to fit on a made-by me back panel, printed them on textured cardstock and cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I created a sentiment panel to go on the back of the card.  I used one of my go-to favourite digital sentiments, "Merry Christmas Happy New Year" from the Emu Parade stamp set, also retired from Beccy’s Place.  It was a bit fiddly to form the fancy folds but once they were burnished with a bone folder, the card stood up and rocked smoothly.  I adhered the layers in place and it looks ever-so-pretty.

Here is the back view, there's plenty of room for me to write a message.

Here is the flat view.
It's 7" diameter, so would need a pretty large envelope, instead it could be posted when folded, either way, the fancy folds would need to be well supported.

Here are the Green and Blue cards together.
It's hard to choose a favourite.

  1. Oooh, the green version is gorgeous too Tracy... it really is difficult to pick a favourite, both colours work so well with the image. I think it's the way you've constructed the card that makes it look so fabulous, the shaped image panel is a real eye-catcher. Love them!
    Cheers,
