Day 16 - Non-Traditional Colours that are . . .

. . . the Same-But-Different

The Non-Traditional Colours for my Happy New Year card
are pretty pink and sparkling gold.

I originally thought I would be making my usual Naughty-Nice themed card for "N" this year.  Funny how plans can change, as Beccy's surprise theme for the Day 16 prompt sent me in a New direction.  This card was inspired by the card I created for
Day 16 - Non-Traditional Colours and a card I shared HERE last month.

Instead of becoming my "N" card, this becomes another one for Day 16
Non-Traditional Colours, it's same-but-different, still one-of-a-kind.

My card uses the "Girl's Night" digital stamp set from the Beccy's Place Store.
I opened the image and sentiment in Silhouette Studio and sized them to fit neatly when matted on a 7" x 5" top folding card base.  The image panel (and an extra cropped piece that included the "front" carnation flower) was printed on white textured cardstock then trimmed to size.  I matted the panel on mulberry cardstock then trimmed to 1/16" border with a Perfect Layers Ruler.  I made my card base from 300gsm smooth white cardstock, adhered a 7" x 5" panel of white textured cardstock on top, then adhered the matted image panel on top.  I printed the sentiment strip on white textured cardstock, trimmed to size, matted with the same mulberry cardstock and trimmed the same as the image panel.  I fussy cut the extra flower and went around the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black Dual Tip Marker so there were no white edges showing.  I punched two small circles, adhered them behind the flower, then "popped" the flower in place on the image panel.  My foam dot supply is getting low and I only have thick ones, so the double layer of cardstock gives a nice subtle dimension.   I decided to add the same dimension to the sentiment strip, so delved into my ever-growing stash-of-scraps and cut two little strips to adhere underneath, then popped the sentiment in place.  Lucky last came the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, I used it to add a luscious golden sparkle to the champagne.

you can almost hear the bubbles bursting.

Here is my original Happy Birthday card and my new Happy New Year Card together ... same-but-different ... same image and colour combo ... different sentiments and dimension, the Happy New Year card has the sentiment strip and fussy-cut flower popped for some extra dimension.
