H is for Holly Cards

H is for Holly cards

I opened the Holly Note Card cut file in Silhouette Studio and enlarged the card and envelope so that my card base was 6.75 inches wide and 5.25 inches high.  (The file comes with a matching envelope, so the size of my card was limited by the envelope.  I grouped them together and sized them as large as I could, with the envelope just fitting on a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and within the cutting limits of my mat.)  Before I sent all the layers to cut, I added the “Merry Little Christmas” digital sentiment from the Christmas Blooms digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place to the inside panel of the card.  I also added a Happy New Year message to the sentiment panel inside the card using the Momday Font.  I decided to cut four panels for each coloured layer, a double bonus, no cardstock waste and I get to make four cards at the same time.  Once cut, I adhered the layers together, using two different adhesives (full details below), the fine tip dispenser along and around the delicate parts of the design, my usual layering adhesive for the rest of each panel.

  1. Fantastic cards Tracy, and well done on creating no waste! The holly cut is fabulous, I love how it fills up the whole card front. Wonderful choice of base card too, the charcoal colour works well with the red and green.
