S is for Sparkling Single Bell Slimline card

S is for Sparkling Single Bell Slimline Card

Another card that started in Silhouette Studio.  I combined the "Single Bell" digital stamp and the "Merry Little Christmas" digital sentiment from the Jingle Bell digital stamp set by Beccy’s Place.  I printed the image on white textured cardstock and coloured with Copic markers, yes, Copic markers.  I trimmed the panel down to size, matted with black cardstock and trimmed to 1/16" border with a Perfect Layers Ruler.  I made a slimline card base from 300gsm smooth white cardstock and matted it with white textured cardstock.  The matted image panel was adhered to the matted card base and my Sparkling Single Bell Slimline Card was almost done.  It still needed the "sparkle", so I added a luscious coating of sparkle to the bell with a Clear Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Brush ... so pretty!

I know we're supposed to use special blending cardstock when colouring with Copic markers but I find that the markers work well with textured cardstock too.  The cardstock is quite "thirsty", so it probably uses a lot more ink than the likes of X-Press It blending card, but I thoroughly enjoy the added texture.

Here is a comparison, colouring the same image with the same markers.  Today's card used textured cardstock, THIS card created for Day 27 X is for X-Press It uses X-Press It Blending Card.  The markers still blend beautifully.

  1. Gorgeous Tracy! I agree that you can use the markers on whatever surface you like... always depends on what you're aiming for. I'm also a big fan of Wink of Stella, I love the more subtle sparkle.
    Cheers,
